Dear Troop 390 Parents:

On Tuesday, November 6, we will be conducting our first annual Troop 390 Parent Orientation & Calendar Review meeting. This meeting will be held during the regularly scheduled Troop meeting from 7:00-8:30pm at Faith Lutheran Church. We are requesting that ALL PARENTS OF TROOP 390 SCOUTS attend this meeting.

The purpose and agenda for this meeting is:

1.  Pass out the Troop 390 calendar and review the coming year

2.  Discuss upcoming events and projects

3.  Bring you up-to-date on the information your scout doesn't bring home

4.  Review the Troop's needs from you as parents

5.  Q&A

Our goal is to make this meeting an annual event to help parents of new scouts become acclimated to the Troop and help parents of returning Scouts keep informed, it's also a great time to meet and mingle with other Troop parents.

Our other high priority goal for this meeting is to seek more parental involvement. Over the last few years our Troop has grown to over 60 Scouts and our adult leadership has gone down. This places a huge burden on the Scoutmaster (Mr. Horvath) and the other active adult leadership. We need to rectify this problem if the Troop is to survive.

If every parent in the Troop participates just a few times each year, our adult leadership problem will be solved. We have a wide variety of opportunities for parental involvement, some of which will undoubtedly match up to your talents and schedule. We will review these opportunities at the November 6^th meeting.

We ask you to make every effort to attend this meeting, if you are unable to attend, we will be following up with you by phone. In order for the Troop to be successful and continue to provide a great experience for your Scout, we need every parent to make a commitment to help us in the upcoming year.
