About Troop 390

Great LeadersTroop 390 is sponsored by Faith Lutheran Church and was originally chartered in 1963. We are a member of the Great Trail Council -  Old Portage District and are based in Fairlawn, Ohio.Troop 390 provides a wide range of activities for today's scouts, including camping, cooking, swimming, boating, hiking, learning about nature, science and hobbies. The boys learn leadership by selecting the troop activities, organizing and planning the events, and then leading the events. The Scoutmasters, Troop Committee members, and adult leaders provide supervision and guidance. Parent participation (including both moms and dads) is highly encouraged.

Great FriendsThe troop is very active. We have regular camping and outdoor activities, with outings at least once a month. Weekend campouts, hikes, games, summer camp, the Klondike Derby, white water rafting and events like the 4th of July Parade are popular with the Scouts.

Great ActivitiesThe older Scouts regularly go on "High Adventure Trips" including canoeing trips and backpacking trips. Some of the high adventure trips include Philmont Scout Reservation, Tinnerman Canoe Base, and High Knoll Trail. Part of rank advancement is serving the community by performing service projects. The Scouts regularly participate in numerous activities around the area.

Great Camping
Troop meetings include rank advancement activities like first aid, knot-tying, camping skills, and physical fitness. In addition, the older Scouts regularly participate in merit badge classes that are required for the advanced ranks of Star, Life, and Eagle.
The Troop meets every Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church from 7:00 - 8:30 PM. Feel free to stop by if you are interested in joining. You may e-mail the Scoutmaster, Jim Horvath, beforehand if you have any questions.Thank you for visiting our web site. Please bookmark and visit often because its content changes weekly.
